Terms of Service
Last updated: 6 August 2026
1. Introduction
AI Alpha Engine is a subscription-based portfolio research platform operated by Lighthouse Cat AB. It ingests public market data, scores investment candidates by momentum and relative strength, and generates AI-powered analysis to help users understand their holdings and explore new investment ideas. AI Alpha Engine does not execute trades and is not a broker-dealer or investment adviser.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of AI Alpha Engine (the "Service"). By creating an account or accessing the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
In summary
- AI Alpha Engine is a research platform, not an investment adviser.
- Investing involves risk and you remain responsible for your own investment decisions.
- AI-generated analysis may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date.
- New accounts receive a 7-day trial before reverting to the Public tier unless a subscription is purchased.
- As a consumer you may withdraw from a subscription within 14 days of purchase, and mandatory consumer rights always prevail over these Terms.
- By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
This is a plain-English overview only. The detailed legal wording is set out in the sections below.
2. Definitions
- Service — the AI Alpha Engine web platform, including all features, reports, data displays, and APIs made available at this domain.
- Account — the user account you create in order to access non-public features of the Service.
- Public tier — the default access level, available without a subscription and without an account. Public-tier users can browse the home page and the general information pages, and can read the published model portfolio (Today’s Stock Picks) including the analysis behind it. Public-tier users cannot access the research pages for an individual ticker or theme, cannot import a portfolio, and receive no analysis of their own holdings.
- Trial — a time-limited period granted to new users at no charge, giving access to the features included in the trial. Those are the features included in a paid Subscription; they are not the additional capabilities held by accounts with trusted or administrative permissions.
- Subscription — a paid plan that grants ongoing access, beyond the Trial period, to the features included in that plan as described on the Plans page.
- AI-generated analysis — reports, summaries, scores, verdicts, and other outputs produced wholly or partly by large language models or automated scoring algorithms within the Service.
3. Eligibility
The Service is intended only for adults. You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement in order to create an Account, start a trial, or purchase a Subscription.
By creating an Account you confirm that you meet these requirements. Lighthouse Cat AB may suspend or terminate an Account where it becomes apparent that they are not met. The same age requirement is stated in the Privacy Policy.
↑ Back to top4. Accounts
You may create an Account using an email address or a Discord identity. You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your Account. You must not share access with others or allow automated systems to log in on your behalf.
Lighthouse Cat AB may suspend or terminate an Account that violates these Terms, is used for abuse, or that has been inactive for an extended period, without prior notice where necessary to protect the Service or other users.
↑ Back to top5. Trial Accounts
New accounts receive a 7-day trial at no charge, with access to the features included in the trial as described in the Definitions above. The trial begins when you first create your Account.
At the end of the trial period your account automatically reverts to the Public tier unless you have purchased a Subscription. There is no automatic payment or renewal — you will not be charged unless you actively choose a paid plan.
↑ Back to top6. Subscriptions
Subscription plans and pricing are described on the Plans page. By purchasing a Subscription you gain access to the features included in your plan for the duration of your billing period.
Subscriptions are billed in advance for the selected billing period. Payment is processed at the time of purchase and automatically at the start of each renewal period unless you cancel beforehand. You may cancel your Subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period and no further charges are made.
No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period unless required by applicable law. This does not affect the statutory withdrawal right described in Right of Withdrawal and Consumer Rights. Lighthouse Cat AB reserves the right to adjust pricing or plan features and will give subscribers at least 30 days' notice before any price increase takes effect.
↑ Back to top7. Right of Withdrawal and Consumer Rights
If you are a consumer, you have a statutory right under EU and Swedish distance-selling law to withdraw from a Subscription within 14 days of purchase, without giving a reason and without penalty.
Access to the paid features begins immediately when a Subscription is purchased. We do not ask you to give up your withdrawal right at checkout, so beginning to use the Service does not cost you that right. If you withdraw within the 14-day period we refund the amount you paid for that billing period.
To withdraw, tell us at the address in Contact before the period ends. A clear statement that you are withdrawing is enough — no particular form is required. A Trial is free of charge, so nothing is paid and nothing is refundable in respect of it.
Nothing in these Terms — including the subscription, refund and liability provisions — excludes or limits any mandatory right you have as a consumer under applicable law. Where these Terms and such a right conflict, the mandatory right prevails.
↑ Back to top8. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- scrape, crawl, or systematically copy data from the Service using automated means;
- attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service;
- interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or its infrastructure;
- use the Service to transmit spam, malware, or other harmful content;
- circumvent any access controls or authentication mechanisms.
9. Investment Disclaimer
AI Alpha Engine provides research and educational content only. Nothing on the Service constitutes personalised financial or investment advice, a recommendation to buy or sell any security, or an offer or solicitation to deal in any financial instrument.
The analysis, scores, and reports generated by the Service are intended to support your own research process, not to replace it. You are solely responsible for any investment decisions you make. Always consider your own financial situation, objectives, and risk tolerance before investing, and consult a qualified financial adviser if appropriate.
↑ Back to top10. AI-Generated Content
The Service uses large language models and automated scoring algorithms to produce analysis. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. It can reflect biases present in training data and may not account for recent events.
You should independently verify any AI-generated output before relying on it. Lighthouse Cat AB makes no guarantee of the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of AI-generated content.
↑ Back to top11. Investment Risk
Investing in securities involves risk, including the possible loss of your entire capital. The value of investments can fall as well as rise. Past performance is not a guarantee or reliable indicator of future results. Returns in foreign currencies may also be affected by exchange rate movements.
You are solely responsible for your own investment decisions and for ensuring that any investment is suitable for your circumstances.
↑ Back to top12. Market Data
Price data, news, analyst grades, and other market information displayed in the Service are sourced from third parties including public market data providers. Lighthouse Cat AB does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this data.
Data may be delayed, unavailable, or temporarily incorrect due to factors outside our control. The availability of any specific data source is not guaranteed.
↑ Back to top13. Intellectual Property and Licence
AI Alpha Engine, its software, branding, algorithms, and all content produced by Lighthouse Cat AB are the intellectual property of Lighthouse Cat AB and are protected by applicable law. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute them without prior written permission.
Subject to these Terms, Lighthouse Cat AB grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access the Service and to use the analysis it produces for your own personal, non-commercial investment research. The licence lasts for as long as your access to the Service lasts and ends when that access ends. It does not permit redistribution, resale or publication of the Service or its output, or its use to build or train a competing product or model.
Market information shown in the Service — prices, news, analyst grades and similar data — originates with third parties. All rights in that information remain with the relevant data providers and licensors. Lighthouse Cat AB claims no ownership of it and grants you no rights in it beyond your permitted use of the Service, and the providers' own terms may apply to it.
You retain ownership of any portfolio files you upload to the Service. By uploading files, you grant Lighthouse Cat AB a limited, non-exclusive right to process that data for the sole purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not share or sell your portfolio data.
↑ Back to top14. Privacy and Data Retention
Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. Our Cookie Policy describes the cookies used by the Service. By using the Service you agree to the processing described in those documents.
Ending a Trial or cancelling a Subscription changes what you can access. It does not by itself delete your Account or the portfolio data you have uploaded. How long we keep your data, and how to ask us to delete it, are set out in the retention section of the Privacy Policy.
↑ Back to top15. Availability
We aim to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
Features may change over time. We may add, modify, or discontinue features without notice, though we will endeavour to give reasonable advance notice for significant changes that affect existing subscribers.
↑ Back to top16. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Lighthouse Cat AB's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim and (b) the price then charged for one month's Subscription. Limb (b) is what applies where you have paid nothing — on the Public tier or during a Trial — so that the limit is never zero.
Lighthouse Cat AB is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including loss of profits, loss of data, or investment losses, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such losses.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. That includes liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, and any mandatory liability owed to you as a consumer. Where a limitation in these Terms is not permitted by applicable law, it applies only so far as it is permitted.
↑ Back to top17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service, our practices, or applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the Terms were last revised.
Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify subscribers of material changes by email or via an in-Service notice before the changes take effect.
↑ Back to top18. General Terms
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Lighthouse Cat AB about the Service and replace any earlier understanding on the same subject. This does not exclude liability for fraudulent misrepresentation.
Severability. If a provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in force, and that provision applies to the greatest extent permitted.
Waiver. A failure or delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it, and waiving it on one occasion does not waive it on another.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent. Lighthouse Cat AB may assign them to a group company, or in connection with a merger, acquisition or transfer of the business, provided your rights under these Terms are not reduced.
Force majeure. Neither party is liable for a failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including outages at hosting, payment or market-data providers, network failures, industrial action and acts of government. This does not affect your right to cancel or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Survival. Provisions that by their nature are meant to outlast your access to the Service continue to apply after it ends — in particular the investment, AI-content and market-data disclaimers, the intellectual property and licence restrictions, the limitation of liability, and governing law and language.
↑ Back to top19. Governing Law and Language
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Swedish courts.
The Swedish version is the original and governing version of these Terms. The English version is provided for convenience. If there is any inconsistency between the language versions, the Swedish version prevails. Nothing in this clause limits any mandatory rights or protections that apply to you under applicable consumer law.
